Welcome Anton Paar!

Anton Paar develops new solutions and produces measuring devices used in R&D and quality control processes all over the globe. Anton Paar is the world leader in the fields of density measurement and the determination of dissolved CO2, as well as the analysis of flow properties and material deformability. Our customers include major colleges and universities, as well as leading soft drink manufacturers, breweries, petrochemical companies, food manufacturers, and chemical and pharmaceutical entities.

For decades Anton Paar has combined precise mechanical production with the latest achievements in research and development. In recent years, Anton Paar GmbH has invested about 20% of its annual turnover in research and development. The analytical solutions the company offers are developed at nine production sites (in Europe and in the USA). An interesting fact is that the company has designed and created a dedicated football training simulator, the so-called skills.lab, where amateurs and professionals can improve their football skills under real conditions.

The Anton Paar Group is active in more than 110 countries and has 37 sales subsidiaries. Today, more than 4,400 employees in the worldwide network of research and development, production, sales and support are responsible for the quality, reliability and service of the products manufactured by Anton Paar. Since 2003, Anton Paar has been owned by the charitable Santner Foundation.

Aside from research and development, Anton Paar’s growth is also based on strategic acquisitions. In 2007 the company acquired Dr. Kernchen GmbH near Hanover, (Germany, optical instruments), followed by Petrotest Group (Germany, measurement technology for the petrochemical industry) in 2012, and also CSM Instruments SA in Switzerland (surface characterization devices) in 2014. In 2016, Anton Paar acquired stationary Raman instrument technology from BaySpec Inc. (USA, California) and the licence for handheld Raman spectrometer technology from SciAps Inc. (USA, MA). In 2017, Anton Paar expanded its product portfolio with particle size analysis technology purchased from Cilas (France). With the acquisitions of Quantachrome Instruments (USA) in February 2018 and AXO Dresden in February 2019, Anton Paar has broadened the range of measurement technologies in its offer to incorporate instruments for the characterization of pores and porous materials and X-ray optics solutions. The acquisition of Brabender (Duisburg, Germany) in August 2023 allowed Anton Paar to include new measuring devices and solutions for material testing offered by the company.
