{"id":6574,"date":"2026-03-27T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl\/?p=6574"},"modified":"2026-03-27T06:08:48","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T05:08:48","slug":"welcome-simona-salerno","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl\/?p=6574","title":{"rendered":"Welcome Simona Salerno!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are delighted to mention that Simona Salerno will be the last special guest of 14th EYEC!&#x2728;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simona Salerno is a Senior Researcher\u00a0at the\u00a0Institute of Membrane Technology\u00a0\u201cEnrico\u00a0Drioli\u201d, National Research Council of Italy, in the strategic area\u00a0of Chemistry and Materials for Health and Life Sciences.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has aquired a PhD in\u00a0Cellular\u00a0Biochemistry and Pharmacological Activity in Oncology\u00a0(2006) and Honours Degree in\u00a0Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology\u00a0(2001),\u00a0from the\u00a0University of Calabria.\u00a0She\u00a0gained international research\u00a0experience at\u00a0the\u00a0Biotechologisch Biomedizinisches\u00a0Zentrum (University of\u00a0Leipzig), the\u00a0Instituto de F\u00edsica\u00a0(University of S\u00e3o Paulo), the\u00a0Institute of\u00a0Biocybernetic\u00a0and Biomedical Engineering (Polish Academy of Sciences) and the\u00a0Departamento\u00a0de\u00a0Ingenier\u00eda\u00a0Qu\u00edmica\u00a0(Universidad\u00a0de Salamanca).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her\u00a0expertise\u00a0lies\u00a0in membrane\u00a0science and engineering applied to tissue\u00a0engineering,\u00a0regenerative medicine,\u00a0bioartificial organs, drug loading and delivery,\u00a0drug testing.\u00a0She\u00a0was\u00a0awarded as\u00a0<em>Early-Stage Researcher<\/em>\u00a0by the European Membrane Society (2014).\u00a0She is\u00a0actively\u00a0involved in several\u00a0European,\u00a0national\u00a0and international research projects and\u00a0collaborative\u00a0agreements with companies, also\u00a0serving\u00a0as scientific responsible and WP leader.\u00a0She serves as\u00a0a\u00a0member of\u00a0several international scientific federation and committees,\u00a0as an\u00a0evaluator for funding\u00a0institutions,\u00a0 and\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Associate<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Guest Editor<\/em>\u00a0for scientific journals.\u00a0She has supervised\u00a0more than 30 master\u2019s degree, PhD and trainees\u2019 students, and\u00a0is the\u00a0author of more than 180\u00a0scientific publication\u00a0in international journals,\u00a0books,\u00a0encyclopaedia\u00a0and conference proceedings.\u00a0&#x1f393;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/postGS_Salerno.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/postGS_Salerno.png 940w, https:\/\/www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/postGS_Salerno-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/postGS_Salerno-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to mention that Simona Salerno will be the last special guest of 14th EYEC!&#x2728;
